Our sweet friends sent out an invite to a bunch of us to see if we wanted to get together and have a game/appetizer/dessert night at their house the day after Valentine's Day. I was so excited about a fun adult night and still celebrating with our kids. We had so much fun. Emily and Mark put together a game competition with scoring system. We did the competition twice. Kevin and I were middle of the pack each time. Not bad since I'm huge and PG. I brought my own greek yogurt for my dessert too since I knew I wouldn't be able to have much, if any of the things people brought. I was right too since I can't have milk or oils (other than avocado oil).

Late Valentine's Dates
Today we went to out Portland Center Stage play. It was Bonnita but ended up being terrible! It was a one person show which we have seen some that are great this one just wasn't wonderful. It was about a 13 year old girl (played by one in her 40's...why couldn't they find someone that was 20 or so) that had a really terrible growing up life (mother who did drugs or got drunk all the time with lots of men in her life and took off for 28 months...leaving her daughter with grandma who let her do drugs). There was cussing in it too and over all was just disappointing. I got a few naps in though which was nice. We were in the front row though so that was a bit awkward. I felt bad that it was so bad since we had searched desperately for a babysitter for the kids. I finally got a friend from church to watch them. It was so nice of her to watch them and the kids LOVED it. They didn't want to go when we came to pick them up.
Tonight was so fun. We were invited over to a friend's house for a couple game night. We each brought an appetizer to share and a few made dessert. We brought bacon wrapped little smokies with brown sugar. So yummy and dairy free!
The Jensen's had put together this fun little sports challenge as couples. We had to play ping pong, Foosball, shoot baskets, Fruit Ninja, and Cow tipping. It was a lot more fun than I thought it was going to be, especially being pregnant and not in the best physical condition. We did pretty well the first round but I didn't do well in the basketball shooting and we both didn't do very well in the cow tipping game. Fruit Ninja we did okay but not great and we didn't do too well in ping pong either. The second time we did terrible getting skunked in the the Foosball and we didn't do great in ping pong either again. It still was a really fun night. We needed to get home to our babysitter though since I know she hates being by herself at night and stays in the girls room with them until we get home and also we didn't want to pay much more for a babysitter.
I'm so glad we were able to go out and have a fun night together and with friends. It was even better not having to put the kids to bed too. That's always nice.

A Day of Love
Thanks to all my sweet friends for sharing all their fun Valentine's day ideas. I got busy at midnight and my kids loved it. It was worth the loss of sleep. The highlight of the day was heart attacking (in a nice way) grandma and grandpa's. Bedroom door.
Love this sweet girl. Kaila woke up and saw all the decorations and came to give me a big hug and to say "Thank you!" It doesn't get much better than that.
Each kid decorated about 12 hearts each for Grandma and Grandpa's door. We put it on their bedroom door instead of their front door so Grandma would be able to see it frequently and know how loved she is. The kids LOVED doing this. Addie was the most excited jumping up and down while putting up the hearts saying, "Grandma is going to be so excited." "Grandma is ..." Ending with "Grandma is going to be jealous." I think she couldn't think of another word to explain how much Grandma was going to love it. How I love that little girl. It made me think of how much joy service can bring to us. Addie had a fun day receiving things but the most excited she got was by serving someone else. LOVE IT!!

Family Surprise
Happy Valentine's Day
The morning started off a little later than I had hoped. I just couldn't get out of bed but I still figured out how to make it fun. I made oatmeal for the kids complete with heart shaped sprinkles! The kids loved that. YEAH for easy ways to please.

Kaila was so excited about all her Valentines as we drove to pick up Glenn from school. Thankfully after some conversing she gave Addie one of her many suckers she got. That made Addie's morning.
Heart Shaped Pizza for lunch! YUM

| Kaila LOVED all her Valentine's and even separated them out multiple times. She especially liked the BFF pin that she got from Katya and her candy bracelet to eat. |
Sweet Valentine's from Greg and Sher's family. The kids beamed as I read each message that was written just for them. :-)
Our Love Mailbox from our FHE packet. The kids LOVED having this though I still need to finish Addie and Glenn's names since they were added to the family after we had these FHE packets put together.
For Dinner we had yummy Crepes to wrap up our celebration and with Strawberries and whip cream the colors were perfect! Stephen came over to join us too which was wonderful to have him here. He brought over some of his yummy 40 garlic chicken that he had made for Vaughn and Suzi...YUM!! I will be adding that to the list of foods to make for dinner next week.
Valentine's Day
Kaila's Valentine's Day present that she thought of doing all by herself. She was very distraught thinking of something special to do for the family. Then a eureka moment later she ran upstairs to cut out letters for everyone's name to put on their walls. .

V-day Party
This morning we woke up to snowflakes falling. The kids thought since it was snowing they could go out and build a snowman. So sad to tell them that wasn't going to happen since it needed to snow A LOT to make a snowman and I knew it wasn't cold enough for that to happen. They enjoyed watching it fall outside before preschool started though.
We had our Valentine's Day party late since everyone was sick at the house and we didn't want to get anyone sick. It was so much fun. We made envelopes to hold our cards, made heart necklaces, and played "HEART" Bingo with pictures from the year. The kids loved it and I did too. We enjoyed some cookies too for snack.
I made this fun heart mobile before the party. I love how it turned out and was so easy to do. I don't think I would have ever thought to sew paper before but this was darling and I couldn't resist trying it out. I also finally finished my "Sweet" project. I was going to get it done BEFORE v-day but getting sick put a kink in all plans.
After school we took off as a family to try Pico Berry. I went for my friend's birthday and DH was wanting to check it out. He doesn't like frozen yogurt but he wanted to give it another shot. Sadly they didn't have many good flavors out this time. The kids enjoyed it though so I think I will be bringing them back again by myself. ;-)
