Temple Beauty

I've really been blessed being able to go to the temple every week.  Watching the spring flowers bloom has been wonderful.  I just LOVE the beauty found in and around the temple.

Welcome March

This morning we found DD getting dressed all on her own. She got her PJ's off and climbed a chair in her closet to reach her bloomers and put TWO pairs. I think the one sock completes the outfit nicely! She was so proud of herself.

Yesterday I noticed we finally had some daffodils that bloomed. Today there were a TON more!!! I'm so excited for Spring. We cut some flowers for our neighbor and for Grandma. We ate dinner over at DH's parents house so we took them some flowers. It was so nice to not have to cook and even better having DH finally home! He got off work at 5:30am Saturday morning (working all night and starting at 9am Friday). He slept most of the day on Saturday but woke up for swimming with the kids at 10:30 and then later for dinner. We were going to go to Costco but didn't get out of the house till it was too late. We went to Red Robin to eat dinner instead and it was so fun. The kids did great and it was nice to have DH with us. The kids LOVE having daddy home. Today LM was following him all around the house. It was so sweet.

LM's talking so much more lately. He's said: pear, bib, dog (today), dada, nana (food), ba-deh (don't know what that is yet but he LOVES that word). The kids are obsessed with watching this signing time video I got from the library and now LM is signing food (hand over his mouth). DD likes to watch the video and make the signs with them and then shows me afterward. It's cute.

We also just located the longer version on the Foot Book. DD LOVES that book. I read it to her once and surprisingly she remembered a lot of the new parts and even the changes to some of the words. I was so impressed. We read it twice on Friday and Saturday she read pretty much every word without help to daddy. It was so fun.DH was so impressed with her and she was pleased with his reaction. She's been crazy lately though staying up for almost 2 more hours reading to herself and talking after she goes to bed. Thankfully she still sleeps in to a normal time in the morning and is still taking an afternoon nap. I need those and don't mind her staying up talking since she's in her room.

Mr. Sun Sun, Mr. Golden Sun please shine down on me!

April 10,2009
A tree in Spring bloom on one of my walks. So pretty!

I've been busy outside weeding every spare moment since we finally had sunny weather all week long. There are so many flower beds at our new house! I think I could spend a month out here all day and maybe get to it all. It's been a great week though.

Fun in the SUN!!!!

I was able to go walking every morning with my friends (even thins morning when I wanted to sleep in and not go). Tuesday I set up a pool for DD to play with her friends but she didn't want anything to do with the water except splash it (while standing outside the pool) at the end of the day. She just ran around and played on the play structure and car. After playtime/water time we went to the store to pick out some ice cream (cheaper than going some where for it) and DD loved carrying her basket around. It was so CUTE!!!

She saw the honey bees and HAD to have those too. (that's what she sees at the end of the video). The ice cream got to heavy to carry so she only has the bees in her basket while walking with DH.

That night I went to a baby shower for a friend and ate some really YUMMY chocolate cake one of my other friends made for it. I've been craving sweets like crazy the last few weeks. I'm glad I'm walking to compensate for it.
LM reached over and grabbed his pooh for the first time today. He's getting better and better at reaching and playing with the toys on his play mat.

Wednesday I took DD to the park for playgroup. We went to a new park for her and she loved it. She was able to climb up on most everything. This summer is going to be so much fun for her since last year she was barely crawling.

She got everything ready for DH to change her this morning for the first time. We have such a sweet little girl!

Little Mommy in the making!

Yesterday I finally took DD to story time at the library again. The lady that runs it on Thursday was sick so they only did bubbles while everyone was walking in and pulled out the toys for an informal playtime since there wasn't anyone available to run the story time. DD had lots of fun though playing with the balls and trying to take all the other kids' toys. She's gotten a lot more aggressive lately especially after having spent time with her 2 year-old cousin in CA. LM loved sitting up on my lap and watching the bubbles fall while DD ran around popping all the bubbles and laughing in delight. We went to check out books but DD didn't want to leave. I told her good bye and walked around the corner. The next thing I heard was Mom, Mom! She came running up to me and we were able to check out our books. I don't know how long that tactic will work but I was happy it worked this time. Last night my friend came over and helped me sort through all the clothes I got for LM and for DD that people have been dropping off. I had some of it sorted but more came and got mixed up in it so it took us almost 4 hours to sort through everything and we didn't finish until 1am! I was so exhausted at midnight too. Walking in the morning is seriously wearing me out!

I picked up some alphabet letters at the store for DD. DH opened them up and she had a blast plastering them all around the tub!

We noticed some mosquitoes and didn't want to have a huge problem with them this year so my mom suggested getting goldfish for the pond to help eat all the larva. DH has found it to be his newest hobby. It's fun watching him check on the fish.

DH decided to try a new look while shaving. . . I personally love it! He's so HOT!!! :-)

I heard/read that you need to take your child to the dentist once they get teeth so DD has almost all her teeth in except her canines. (We are still waiting on them to fully appear). DH took her so I could stay home with the sleeping baby. I was sad to miss the moment but insisted DH take the camera. We couldn't locate the small point and shoot camera so he lugged around the big one (thanks honey!). It turned out to be a blessing that he took the camera because they had to wait forever (30 minutes to be take back and another 20 minutest to be seen by the dentist). They even made them come in 15 minutes early and weren't ready for her. Not fun while dealing with a 1.5 year-old. DH said she did great the first bit but was done waiting at the end. He was too. The dentist came and DD didn't want to open her mouth. They finally got it open and the dentist (counted her teeth- DH said he thinks she saw not all of them were in and didn't even count). She asked some basic questions (bottles at night, juice during the day, brushing teeth. . . and was told we are doing everything right and to come back in a year). Weird visit. DD was able to keep a little princess mirror thing she was playing with which she was pleased with. After hearing how the visit went I'm not so sad that I stayed at home. I'm thinking we may switch dentist though. That wait time was ridiculous and all for really nothing!

FIRST DENTIST VISIT

Today my mom took me to a second hand store and I got some 9-month clothes for LM since he only has about 5 items of clothes for that size. The store didn't have much in that size either but I found about 5 more things. I got some great sweaters for DD, an outfit, and a pair of capris too. I also got her a touch leap pad with three books for only $15. I'm hoping it will be perfect for our airplane ride to AZ. The best part was my mom ended up buying it all for me! We went to BRU and got the graco duoglider stroller since it was $30 off today. The one my SIL gave us was all molded inside so we can't use it. We had to get something though for the airport and AZ since we leave on Wednesday to visit my sister.

This morning I found DD had grabbed the Ensign Magazine and sat at her little table in the living room and was reading it. She knew she was cute too. (Here's one of her "fake" smiles. . .leading us into the years of the funny faces of when we ask her to say "cheese")

I love seeing my two favorite guys together. They are the best!
Look who's big enough for the bumbo chair. . .
The bottom right picture is of DD and I cheering LM on while he's in his chair.

I slightly feel bad putting him in DD's purple chair but he loved being able to sit up so I got over it. He handled being in the there for about 5-10 minutes till I think he was tired of holding his head up. Yeah for one more thing my little man can do.

I can tell DH's getting more desperate to find a job now. So many people are getting laid off and companies are closing everywhere! He tried even the Air Force but he's too old (by a few months). I don't know what we will do but I feel the stress level rising in both of us since all prospects of a job are so low! Thank goodness for our savings but we have been living off that since Thanksgiving and it won't last past September. I think he's looking at the National Guard right now. He had an appointment to talk to someone there next Tuesday. We will have to see what they say. I hate this economy!
--------------------------------------------------------------
I'm determined to lose the last 10 lbs of my pregnancy but have been craving and eating sweets all week. Having joined the walking group with friends every day (except weekends) I'm hoping will help. I think we will be doing a half marathon in August/September so we have to get in shape (13.5 miles in 4 hours). Then when we get back from vacation in AZ DH and I are both going to be doing P90X. It's going to KILL me but I figure I will just try to do what I can and work my way up. I really should be doing just P90 but DH owns the other one so I will deal with it.

So how have you found to curb your sweet tooth?

--------------------------------------------------------------
I can't believe how much some of my friends pay in child care! They got me thinking of taking in a few kids to help make ends meet until DH can find a job! If I took just two kids at $100 a week that would pay for rent each month. That would be awesome. DH doesn't think we have enough room in the house but I don't know. I think it might work. I still have to convince him. The other problem is finding those two kids. Anyone know of someone needing childcare?
