Crazy Hair Day
Kaila is one that REALLY HATES having attention drawn to her. She didn't want to do anything for crazy hair day at all. It took a lot of convincing and finally when I said I'd make hearts she went for it and some pink hair. She LOVED the pink though it was really messy and got all over her clothes. I had told her everyone in her class would have crazy hair but as it turned out she was one of the few. Oops! She still loved it and it helped that her teacher did too. I did give her a shower after she got home to get the pink out of her hair. She was finished with being different. :-)

Life has been so busy and filled with lots of family things. Here's a week in review Friday after Thanksgiving my parents came over for dinner and we had specialty cheeses and cracker with leftover dessert. It was delish. My sister and I did Black Friday but SP choose to sleep through the night of course so I finally woke her up at 6:30 fed her and then we hit the stores at 7 so most everything was already gone by then. We had fun though and spent too much. lol I think I'm finished though. Saturday we made gingerbread (gram-cracker) houses at my brother's house. It was lots of fun and kids had a blast! Sunday we had dinner at DH's parents house with his brother who was still in town from UT and my sister joined us for dessert. After putting the kids to bed my sis and I played Canasta (I won that time). Monday, DH's brother got sick sadly but thankfully we all are still fine since we were just around him. I really hate when the kids get sick. Instead of seeing him that night we got DD's hair cut (about 4 inches). I really miss our Kids Kuts place that closed down this summer. They were so good with kids and knew what they were doing.
Sadly I woke up yesterday with my back out. SP had a rough night so I was leaning over her a lot to help calm her down or side feeding her and I think it was just too much for my back to handle. I think she's going through a growth spurt because she was wanting to eat every 2 hours yesterday. Thankfully I got in to see my acupuncturist that morning and it helped a lot but it's still not better today. I'm hoping tomorrow will be better. I LOVE acu though!!!! I was able to still go to knitting that night and I finished the first of SP's two baby booties. It's HUGE though so I think she'll be 2 before she can wear it, lol. While I was knitting I started to get a migraine (really what are the chances to have two major aliments happen in the same day). I had DH come and take me home since it got to the point I couldn't see much at all. Thankfully after a can of Mountain Dew and ibuprofen it went away and I was able to do preschool this morning.

Thankful for Haircuts

DD had LOVED her long hair and would start commenting about how long her hair was along with everyone else. The problem with long hair...terrible knots. DH and I were tired of her crying when we would brush out her hair so we chopped the ends off (4 inches). I had to tell the lady to put layers in after three times telling her we were growing her bangs out and not to cut them. I was hoping for more from them since they should have the training in cutting hair to suggest things to me not me telling them what to do. Alas it got done and looks VERY cute. Yeah for easier to manage hair.

We really started the packing today. DD was wanting to help dad (though he didn't want the help) so I grabbed a box and had her say good night (thanks for the idea Mandy) to all her stuffed animals and put them to sleep for a few weeks. She was pleased to do it and then we did the books in her room and the toys she doesn't frequently play with. It feels nice to have a start. I went into LM's room and did a box of his stuff and think I will try to do a few more before we take off in the morning for the get together are DH's brother's house.
Overall I spent the day on the couch sleeping and trying to knock this headache away. It's still there. I pray it's gone tomorrow though. My cold is worse and having both isn't fun. I just wish I could take something for it though.
The kids got new haircuts today. We found out the place we go to is closing down because the owners that own the building won't renew their lease. So sad since they are wonderful with the kids. LM got his first little Mohawk styling done. DD chose out Ireland colors for her hair bow. Daddy was pleased with her choice.

Fun times
May 7, 2009
Here's a video of DD exercising with DH. DH is doing the 90 days for the P90X. He's hoping to be able to do all 90 days. The previous times something has gotten in the way (car accidents/ankle injuries...)
Yesterday my mom came over after I took DD to playgroup for lunch and to help put together a quilt for LM. We are using some of the material that we had at our wedding. It will be hopefully if all the measurements are right big enough to lay over his toddler bed too (not to tuck in though but lay on top which will be fine). We got most of it cut out and I finished the rest today cutting. I wanted to sew it up but DD woke up from her nap and was a complete mess not knowing what she wanted and whining the entire time. It was like that again today! It's so tiring.
DH built us a square foot garden. Yippee!!! I love fresh vegetables. We still need our seeds since they some how disappeared. . .
DD loves getting snack out of her snack drawer. Lately her favorite snacks are her fruit snacks.
Last night I was able to go out for a girl's night and it was great to be with the girls. I drove us all over to my friend's house that just had back surgery. It was nice to include her because other wise she wouldn't have been able to come. One of the girls though that came got all ready to go after only 2 hours (I took that as the hint that I had to leave too since I was her ride). I wasn't ready for the evening to be over since normally we are up and out till late! One of my friend's wasn't ready to go home either so we come to my house and chatted till 1am. DH was up and talked with us too. It was nice but we were all exhausted today!

Two of my friends got together to go walking today! We were so lucky and got a stretch of sunshine to walk in since it hailed and poured right before hand and rained afterward too. DH watched all the kids for us so that was nice not to drag them out again like earlier in the week when we all got soaked.
I watched my friend's two girls today. It was fun watching them all play together. LM loved watching all the entertainment and got lots of attention from them (maybe a little too much at times). We had to have a few conversations about not pulling on heads and how to lift him up properly if we were to lift at all. Ü
I had these sunglasses since I was a kid. I found them in an old box. The kids had fun wearing them today before one side was broken. (I love my over saturated editing--first time I've tried that.)

DD will say she wants to do something but once there, freaks out (wanting to be held but not really) yesterday and today. It's so hard to deal with and lasts FOREVER! I'm chalking it up to the age (lack of communication skills) and being tired. DD's waking up earlier than she should in the morning and not sleeping long enough at nap time to make up for the lack of night sleeping.LM's little giggles

What a full week . . .
April 2, 2009
So Monday night we got cold stone again, YUMMY. We saw one on our road trip home and said we would get some with our friends here so we did. DD went down late again that night but did fine. She woke up early though.
Tuesday DD, LM, and I met our friends at OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry). They have this room for kids 6 and younger. DD had a blast. Her favorites were the ball blower, water tables, and climbing structure. She didn't like the feel of the sand on her feet at all. My friend took her in there and got her use to the sand and she played there for a little while but then wanted out. I loved that they had a nursing room there for me to feed LM and family restrooms with small toilets and sinks for the kids. It was a lot of fun. We went and ate at Burger King after that and the girls had fun "talking" with each other. My parents came over for dinner and then DH's parents came over to look at his Ireland pictures. We couldn't get the computer linked up to the TV so I folded laundry and took care of LM instead and will see the pictures later with my parents.

Least Favorite thing was the sand. She HATED the feeling of it. Can you see that in the bottom left picture. She's trying to get it off her feet.

Wednesday (I can't believe it's April already!) we woke up to a true family bed. LM was fussy almost from the moment I put him down for bed so I just put him next to me and he slept. DD woke up screaming at 3am. It wasn't a normal cry so DH went to get her. I fell back asleep but DH told me she had thrown up (clear) on herself and then again on him and once more. He then rocked her for an hour after cleaning them both up. He finally brought her back to bed with him and so there were 4 of us all smashed into a double bed! It was crazy. My friend dropped her girls off over here for us to watch them while she returned her rental car and got her van back. I did the two younger girls hair and did a new hair style with DD. I really liked it too. We then took the girl to playgroup. DD did pretty well and seemed completely fine. I was wondering if the throwing up was from her screaming. After playgroup I went to my friend's house after dropping DD off with DH for lunch and nap. We reserved a beach house for a group of girls for mid-September! I'm so excited for that trip.
Today (Thursday) I went for a walk with my friend who had the 10lb baby. It was our first time out exercising since having our kids. We are both trying to loose weight now! I decided in CA that I really need to get this last 10-13 pounds off soon. I ate my diet breakfast this morning and did well for lunch but slacked this afternoon. DD is sick with lots of diarrhea today. She went through 3 outfits and had 2 baths. Her booster even got a good cleaning. She woke up at 6am too so I put her down for a nap at 10 but she only slept till 10:30 because she soiled another diaper. Poor girl! I did manage to get a few weeds pulled today between all rain showers. I miss the California sun.

I love the Daddy/Daughter bond they have together.

New things in our house. . .hairstyle for DD and her new trick of crossing her fingers.
