Talking Back

DD throws a fit along with saying "no, you do...." We tell her to not talk back (including when she says no) and she's finally learning. We say are you talking back and she's starting to catch herself. We put her in time out here at home. In the car if she keeps it up she gets flicked on the mouth, in the store she gets warning and the next time we leave. She HATES that but it works for us. I think the asking her if she's talking back allows her to think about what she's saying and change her behavior which she does on occasion.
