Day 1 of Single Mommyhood

Kevin took off for Texas this morning.  His Dad picked him up and took him to the airport shortly after 8am for his 10:30 flight.  That left me to get all the kids ready for church too...one of my least favorite tasks.  Really I hate anything that has a set time that I need to be at.  Life happens and things never go the way I hope so we are usually late which is frustrating.  Like today I got Rowan all changed and dressed.  I came downstairs to find all the kids had gone outside in their boots (thankfully) to play.  The rains we have been having the past two weeks have made some lovely mud in the back so then the girls who came in the house with their boots on tracked muddy water over my new door run and the floor.  Now I had a load of laundry to do.  Glenn took his boots off outside as did the girls after I shooed them back out.  Glenn sat on the couch and I looked over at him from the kitchen and could see his mud caked knees from there. Add Showers to the list of what needs to be done. I sent everyone upstairs to shower as I finished making pancakes.
