I took all the kids with me to Enrichment Night at church so Kevin could have a free night too (which he used to go and see a movie), yeah for free babysitting and allowing both parents to be rejuvenated. I didn't realize how late it was when we got back home from the park and then needing to leave (especially with in my head thinking that I didn't need to worry about dinner since dinner was provided). Thankfully Kevin thought to ask about the kids needing to eat. He made sandwiches quickly for them while I finished feeding Rowan on the couch.
While driving over to the church the kids ate their sandwiches. The big kids in the back were eating just fine while Addie was finishing up her gogurt and other snack before eating her sandwich. The next thing I know while driving Addie is gagging and choking on her food. I panicked and asked her what was going on. She said it was honey and she was trying to spit gag up every last drop of the honey. I told her to be a big girl and just swallow it, that she use to eat it, and she would be fine. I reached back and grabbed the wet wipes out of the diaper bag since they were thankfully on the top and handed her a couple to clean up her mess. She tried eating it again and couldn't do it. I asked Kaila if she had jam, which she said she did but she had already eaten her entire sandwich and couldn't share.
The funny thing was when we arrived at the church Addie was getting out of the car and said to me, "Oh no Mom. This is so not good. I got honey on my shirt." I told her that wasn't good and handed her another wet wipe. Silly girl!!
The Enrichment Activity was wonderful. I invited my mom to join us for the night which she accepted! It was so nice to have her there and the other ladies at our table thanked me for bringing her too. Rowan loved all the the cuddles her received from Nana as well. I loved the yummy Cafe Rio Salads, Delicious coconut rolled ice cream, and the beautiful program with wonderful speakers. It was wonderful to have Sister Shari Southworth (Sister South) speak to us one last time. She moved out of our ward into the Jorgensen's basement apartment the last Saturday of September. One chapter closing with her as out RS president for the past 4 year when the ward was reorganized. Sister Jennifer Stagg is our new RS President. I know she will do amazing things in her new calling. We will miss her in Primary though. I loved the slide show that Brandi Pappenfuss put together of all the pictures of sisters in our ward and pics from the different activities from the year. It was wonderful.
Addie was so sweet as we entered the cultural hall as I was taking them across quietly to the nursery room she said, Mommy there's my teacher. I asked who. She told me it was Sydnee's mommy. Oh that melted my heart and broke it at the same time knowing that Jen won't be in Primary anymore but so happy for the lasting impression she has made on my daughters life that she found her in a crowd of people.
