Today we met up with my dear friend, June (whom I've known since 3rd grade), at skate world for a play date. The kids all pulled money out of there piggy banks to go skating and loved it.  Sadly June's little guy couldn't handle it so they left after an hour but my kids were in heaven so we stayed almost the entire 4 hour block of time.  All three kids won the dice game and got a free Slurpee to enjoy.  I had a coupon from the website to get a jumbo cotton candy for the price of a small one.  Kaila got better and better as the time went and at the end was skating around the Christmas tree in the middle of the skating rink.  Glenn was getting better and not hanging on the sides as much and even ventured out to join Kaila in the middle.  Addie I had her skates tightened to be walking since I wasn't out on the rink to help her and she still had fun walking around the rink.

My favorite moments were while the kids were drinking their Slurpee and eating the cotton candy.  Glenn turned to me and said, "This is the Best day ever!"  I questioned if it was better than Christmas.  Glenn said it was.  Kaila didn't think it was but I'm thinking that maybe next year we might make a trip up to the Great Wolf Lodge for Christmas instead of presents.  I'll have to talk it over with Kevin instead.  I told Kaila she would still get a gift from Santa and the grandparents.  Not sure I convinced her though.

Addie came up to me and said, "Thank you Mommy so much for the cotton candy.  Thank you so much.  I love you!"  Melted my heart.  She was so sincere and was truly grateful for it.
