Riley's Surgery in Peru, Crazy Addie, and Parent Teacher Conferences

We have all been praying for Riley this week to feel better.  He's been really sick and just not getting better. I got a call Wednesday night from Kevin that Riley was going into surgery. We didn't have any more information than that and to pray for him. I was at Skate World with Kaila for a birthday party for her friend, Tyrus. I told Kaila about him going into surgery and she immediately turned her head into my tummy and said a prayer for him and the doctors. I'm so thankful for that opportunity to strengthen her testimony that God answers her prayers. I was so happy to tell her the next day when she got home from school that Riley was fine and just in normal pain from the surgery. She was grateful and said to me that she prayed that he would not have pain or just a little pain if possible. She was glad it was the little.

We love you Riley and pray for you daily while you are serving your mission in Peru!

This last week I got to go to the doctors and hear the baby's heart beat. It's always a wondrous thing to hear. Your mom and I were talking in FB last night and she said maybe I'll have the baby early on Tori & Chandler's BD so there would be another double birthday. Definitely a possibility. I'm just hoping it's after mother's day.

We have conferences with Kaila's teacher next Monday. I can't wait to see where she compares to other first graders. Her teacher tells me when I come to read with the other kids on Thursdays with Grandpa Vaughn that she's doing so well. I see it at home too. She's reading all the time and almost as fast as I read when they are words she knows. It's so exciting. I love that she's reading more and more to Addie and Glenn. It's very helpful some nights when I haven't been feeling well.

Addie's being her normal crazy self. Kevin took a picture of her hanging upside down legs spread apart off our countertop. How we love her crazy ways. She's super attached to Kevin right now too. It's cute though drives him crazy at times when he's trying to cook and she's hanging on him and won't go to me. Lol

Glenn had last week off from school. It was nice to have a break from driving all the time (though Kevin's done most of the driving this year). I just love my little boy. He'll come sit on my lap, or lay with me for a moment, and give me hugs and kisses. I hope it lasts a long time. I'm sure it won't but one can hope.

If you can remember to add Kevin to your prayer list that work will come his way soon we would appreciate it. He hasn't had a job since September. I know it's stressing him out. It's a slow season but usually the first of the year is slower which is scary.
