First Movie

July 7, 2009

So today I took DD to the free movie. It was "Horton Hears a Who" and I thought she would really like it since she's really into elephants lately (doing the sign for it and making the noise) but I was wrong. She loved the spec in the beginning and LOUDLY saying over and over. . ."ball, ball" after it landed on the flower she was done. It didn't matter all the snacks I brought she just wanted to run around and play. Thankfully we were in the back. I was able to get LM to sleep which was a bonus and then I just kept a tab on DD. We made it to the end only because I really wanted to see the ending though I probably should have left a half hour early. We made it through 2 hours in the theater though!!

I went and visited my friend afterward. It was fun to see DH's shoot happening today as we were driving by. He was shooting at the local college a couple of Nike commercials. He tried to let me know we could stop by but I hit a dead zone with the phone and didn't get it until I was almost to my friends house. He was to busy once we left to stop by so I just took the kids home for lunch and naps. It was so cute once DD woke up from her nap. LM was already up and I had him walking toward her in the hall saying, "Look who woke up?" and DD ran up and gave him the biggest hug. She ran back to the end of the hall and I had LM walking to her again (he was really high stepping it too). DD ran again to him and gave him a big hug. They repeated this till LM walked down the entire hallway. It was so cute!

I was able to pick 6 cups or raspberries from our bushes outside! I was really happy about that. I'm hoping to make freezer jam tomorrow if I can make it to the store. DD loves to pick the berries off the bush and throw them on the ground. She spits them out too. I guess she really HATES them! I also forgot to let the dog out that we are house sitting (well, DH is since we didn't' want to move all the kids stuff.) Thankfully she didn't have an accident after going from 4am to 5pm when I remembered her. I was so lucky. We stayed there for awhile playing and ate dinner to keep the dog company. DD was trying to "kill" the cat by playing with her and not letting her go. The poor cat. She threw the biggest fit too when she couldn't get the cat to do what she wanted. I'm so glad we aren't 100% staying there. I think the cat might die from DD's death grip!

I was able to escape tonight to knitting. My husband is a sweetie and stayed with the kiddos so I could have some me time even though he had worked from 4am-7pm. He's the best!!! It was fun and I got a good chunk of my block done that's going on my quilt that I'm knitting. (It's my year project working on different patterns.)
