June 2, 2009

Sunday night we went to DH's parents for dinner. It was fun and DD was too funny and wouldn't eat her manwich with the bun and used chips to dip in the sauce. She slept in he bed with the normal "crying" at bedtime. She woke up and was playing in her room. DH was up at 6 am working out and heard her. He thought she was knocking (like she does when she wants out because she still can't open the door) but she just hit the door with her stroller.

Monday DD took a 3.5 hour nap from 12:40 to 4:20. She was put in her room for time out but went to her bed, crawled in, got her binkie, and pulled a blanket over her. I took that as bed time and turned on the sound machine and she slept and slept. Too bad LM wouldn't sleep for a long time. He went down after her, got up an hour later, eat, played and went back down for another nap and got up before DD woke up. CRAZY. I took both kids to Walmart with my friend and got stuff for DD's party. LM was having terrible teething issues and I didn't have any orajel with me so I grabbed some to buy and bit the tip of with my teeth to give him some and got a little on my own tongue. It was the werdest sensation to feel it going numb on me. My friend is making a Mel dog cake and I'm using lime green and pink as her color theme (Mel's colors from Jack's Big Music Show). I got a slip-n-slid and some presents for her. I'm so excited for it. We had gotten a great response so far too for people coming so it should be a fun day.

Today DH also bought a scooter to take to work and save us a lot of money on gas. I hope he continues to get more jobs! I still hate the unknown with his line of work though I'm getting better at dealing with it (at least I like to believe I am.)

This morning
DD had a play date with my friend's boy whom I've known since grade school. We have been trying to get together forever but either someone is out of town, gets sick, or something. It was fun having them play together. They both look a lot a like too which is pretty funny. They loved running around and practicing their sharing skills. It was a wonderful afternoon. I had knitting here tonight too (will be for the month) and we have playgroup tomorrow too. Lots of chaos!
Poor DD wasn't paying attention to where her feet were..

LM decided he wanted some lunch too and thought a piece of bread sounded yummy! (Too bad his momma didn't let him have any though he enjoyed reaching it.)

This month is my month for hosting knitting at my house. We have been taking turns hosting this year. It's nice not having to go anywhere though it's a challenge to have dinner fixed, eaten, put away, and the house picked up before everyone gets here. We managed though!
After knitting DH and I worked on getting LM to roll over. We know he can do it. We just are trying to encourage him to do it. I think he will be a little happier being able to move himself about though I love knowing I can put him down and he won't go anywhere.

Anyone's little one still seem behind with language development? Yes, we got a form in the mail to test her with for her 2 year appointment in 2 weeks and she is VERY high in gross motor and most fine motor but is lacking in communication. We will see what the doctor says. She has more than 20 words now which was our primary concern at her 18 month appointment but she's not really putting words together though DH said that she's said "airplane fly" (in her slight gibberish talk). The only 2 word phrase I hear her say is "baby shhalleeeping" (baby sleeping).

Favorite song (to sing and listen too): Wheels on the Bus (she loves to roll her hands for the wheels and nods her head to get us to sing it saying yah, yah. She LOVES to listen/dance to Pink's "So What"

Favorite book:
Corduroy

Favorite TV show: Barney, Jack's Big Music Show, and Hip Hop Harry

Favorite color: I'm pretty sure it's pink
