May 9, 2009

I find it so funny that a friend of mine (across the country) BOUGHT a blackberry bush! They grow here like crazy (wild) and we are trying to kill them off and get rid of them. They do produce some yummy berries though. It's just funny to think of purposely growing them.

We are heading out to celebrate b-days/mother's day with the DH's side of the family. We are also checking on our food storage and 72 hour kits. It will be nice to get those done and stuff for the kids too! On our way out I'm hoping to stop by the farmers market and see the booth my friend has selling the purses/bags she knits and sews. She's so talented and I want to help support her.

(later that day)
I'm so excited for Mother's Day tomorrow. DH's making ribs for dinner and then we are going to my parents for Strawberry cream roll! YUMMY. It will be a wonderful and hopefully relaxing day.

We had fun tonight at the family gathering. DD can climb up the play structure they have and get down the slid all by herself. I didn't know if she would be able to climb up since it's a steep ladder but she did. She's growing up so fast. She hated the annual Christmas Tree bond fire. I think she was afraid of the heat and all the flames. It's a fun tradition though and after I told her it's okay that I was holding her she relaxed. LM was a chatter box with everyone and was easily tickled. He's such a social little guy. I think I got a little burnt from the sun since I'm a little itchy but hopefully it's not too bad. Overall it was a wonderful evening. I have such a wonderful extended family.

---------------------------------------------
Today I found out (I guess LM's done it for awhile now and never let me in on the secret) but DD HATES being hit on the foot. It worked today since she kept kicking me while I was trying to change her. She gets her feelings all hurt and stops.

So we use to put DD in her room for time out and she hated it for about 2 weeks until she discovered she could just play with her toys. Now we are back to time out but in the corner (for the past week or so) and she actually put herself in the corner on her own so we just went with it.

Good for you.. Time outs are hard, we were told to put kaid in the corner, same every time.. and now he too will go in the corner when he needs a timeout.
