Halloween Family Fun

October 23, 2009

So this morning I left LM for a minute to tend to DD and this is what I found upon my return... a VERY messy boy! Rice cereal with mixed fruit along with kix cereal is really gross to clean up.
Today was HORRIBLE!! DD was just a bear and wouldn't listen to me at all. I seriously wanted to kill her--well not literally but she was just awful. I was trying to make soup for the family gathering tonight and was cooking bacon and sausage. The grease was splattering everywhere and she had to push her way between me and the stove. Not safe at all an then would hit and pinch my leg because I kept telling her to get away. I kept putting her a few feet away or even in her room and she would keep coming out. How I wished for a lock on the outside of her door. It was a long morning! If DD wasn't crying then LM was. He's hit the phase of I have to be by you or held by you at ALL TIMES.
With LM's new ability to move around has brought with it lots of curiosity. Resulting in piles of things on the floor. Toady included papers, books and CD's.DD is jumping along with Baby Bob

DD is really getting into her shows lately...she's singing along more and even saying most words are phrases before they get to them. Her vocab has sored this past month and I know she's enjoying being able to communicate more as we are with being able to understand her.

Fun with pumpkins!

This evening was great. My soup turned out (I finished making it at my SIL's house). DD LOVED gutting out "her" pumpkin. She helped pick out the different shapes for the face. I drew them on the newspaper and had her choose them. At firs she would just count them--still skipping the number 4. It turned out cute. We did a little trick-or-treating and had the kids dress up and go from door to door in the house. The kids LOVED it and DD just went straight to "treat" after knocking on the door. She knew what she wanted. I think she had too much sugar because she didn't really fall asleep on the drive home yet it was an hour past her bed time. LM did great though he really wanted me half the time. He ate cheddar broccoli soup and LOVED it. His older girl cousins were always carrying him around and playing with him. That was nice for me.

LM Explores what life would be like as Ruby (the Dog).

Playtime is best when family is around!

It was sad not having DH there but it's wonderful that he's working so I'm not going to complain. He just got a call for another job too though there are a lot of logistics that need to happen for it to work out. I hope it does. I think that would make about 5 or 6 jobs in a row with out much more than a day or two break. I hope it stays busy like this!
