Today we went to out Portland Center Stage play. It was Bonnita but ended up being terrible! It was a one person show which we have seen some that are great this one just wasn't wonderful. It was about a 13 year old girl (played by one in her 40's...why couldn't they find someone that was 20 or so) that had a really terrible growing up life (mother who did drugs or got drunk all the time with lots of men in her life and took off for 28 months...leaving her daughter with grandma who let her do drugs). There was cussing in it too and over all was just disappointing. I got a few naps in though which was nice. We were in the front row though so that was a bit awkward. I felt bad that it was so bad since we had searched desperately for a babysitter for the kids. I finally got a friend from church to watch them. It was so nice of her to watch them and the kids LOVED it. They didn't want to go when we came to pick them up.
Tonight was so fun. We were invited over to a friend's house for a couple game night. We each brought an appetizer to share and a few made dessert. We brought bacon wrapped little smokies with brown sugar. So yummy and dairy free!
The Jensen's had put together this fun little sports challenge as couples. We had to play ping pong, Foosball, shoot baskets, Fruit Ninja, and Cow tipping. It was a lot more fun than I thought it was going to be, especially being pregnant and not in the best physical condition. We did pretty well the first round but I didn't do well in the basketball shooting and we both didn't do very well in the cow tipping game. Fruit Ninja we did okay but not great and we didn't do too well in ping pong either. The second time we did terrible getting skunked in the the Foosball and we didn't do great in ping pong either again. It still was a really fun night. We needed to get home to our babysitter though since I know she hates being by herself at night and stays in the girls room with them until we get home and also we didn't want to pay much more for a babysitter.
I'm so glad we were able to go out and have a fun night together and with friends. It was even better not having to put the kids to bed too. That's always nice.
