Full day with OMSI

I went Visiting Teaching this morning with Kari which I'm so glad we were able to do since we haven't seen our sisters for a very long time.  We dropped stuff off and called them but we haven't been in their home to visit for a few months.  Sadly Vicki is in the swing of taxes so we won't be seeing her for a couple of months.  Thankfully we were able to visit a little last month since she was home when we were dropping stuff off for her.  I really love the sisters we visit.  Sister Melissa Lesslie is HILARIOUS.  I'm always laughing when I visit with her.  She sure has her own take on life which is fun and some times interesting.  Sister Elizabeth Ortiz we have visited for over three years now.  I always enjoy visiting with her and love that she's so easy to get to visit.  It's always nice to have someone that's easy to get into see.  :-)

After VTing I hurried home and quickly put a lunch together for me.  I asked Kevin to make sandwiches for the younger two and he went one step further and put a whole lunch together with the small cooler and ice pack!  What a guy!!  We hurried out the door after that so Kevin could drop us off at OMSI before he headed to give blood downtown.  Addie and Glenn were super excited to spend time at OMSI.  They both were hungry on the way over so I had them eat lunch first. They quickly ate some of it and then they headed over to the sand area while I finished eating my lunch.  Addie left that to go to the water area.  After playing there for awhile she went to the grocery store and then over to the arts area. They had bug hats to make which she loved.  After finishing her hat she moved to the next table to play with the Gak.  She LOVED playing with it along with a table full of other toddlers.  Glenn eventually found us...I guess he'd been looking for us. I felt bad that I had forgotten to tell him we were in there.  He made a hat and played with the GAK and puzzles then when Addie and I went to the bathroom he went back over to the sand area.

Sadly Addie's hat later ended up in the toilet as she proceeded to climb
the wall hanging on the support bar...my crazy monkey girl.
After a little while Glenn really wanted to go downstairs to the big kid area. We left and went to see the developing fetus area and showed the kids how big their little brother was right now.  It was neat for them.  Glenn measured the baby in the glass and then brought it down to my belly.  It was cute.

Outside the baby area they had a human body exhibit set up. The kids loved the ear the most and climbed in the ear tunnel along the wall.  I'm not sure it was suppose to be climbed on but they didn't have a sign saying otherwise.  Another mother that was saying it was probably fine.  I thought it entertaining that my kids would find what they could to climb 3 feet up from the ground on the wall.

We took the glass elevator downstairs and the kids got another stamp on their hands as they entered the big kid area (general area).  We didn't go to far in since they wanted to play connect four with the robots. Addie played against another three year old boy.  She actually ended up winning with the help of Glenn.  Then Glenn and Addie played a game which Glenn won and we hurried outside since Kevin was waiting for us in the pick up zone in front of OMSI.

Glenn was lucky and got to go play at Jake Jensen's house right afterward.  We dropped him off on our way home and got home about 10 minutes before Kaila was expected home from school.  Perfect timing!  Poor Addie wanted a playdate with Brooklyn Pappenfuss but her mommy said she had a tummy ache and her little sister, Kylee, had been throwing up the day before so she proabably was getting sick.  :-(  Later that night she texted saying she was then throwing up so I'm glad we didn't have her over.

Makenna came over to get some help on math homework and then to play with Kaila.  We had cereal for dinner too since we ate too much of the chicken the night before with our chicken BLT's.  The kids devoured the chicken so Kevin had to make more and that meant we didn't have enough for the next to nights worth of meals that were planned.  Kevin took Addie to the store to get some things (little date since she didn't have a play date) while we ate our dinner of cereal since it would have been 6:30 before anything  would be ready when they got back which was time to get ready for bed since it's a school night.

Overall it was a wonderful day.  I love spending time with my kiddos.  :-)
