Despite the bitter cold and CRAZY wind blowing it was a fabulous day here in the Lewis home. I got my workout in and the house cleaned up before taking the kids to a playdate at the church gym with some other moms. The kids LOVED riding their bikes around and playing with each other. I loved that I got to visit and discovered how to use my phone to blog and upload pics from my phone. LOVELY! This will make things so much easier.
I'm blessed with WONDERFUL in-laws that LOVE my kids and me. Since I have activity days every other Wednesday my MIL is so thoughtful to babysit for me when Kevin is working. I'm so lucky to not have to worry about that aspect of my calling. She even said for me to bring the kids over after lunch today so they could have a little more time. I was thrilled since then I could go grocery shopping ALONE! What a blessing. I made the kids sandwiches and they ate in the car on the way to Grandma's after our playdate. It was wonderful!
I hit up the store and scored a wonderful deal on the cutest boy shoes/sandals. I think I have about 7 friends that are pregnant now (the clerks eyes popped when I said that when we were talking about the shoes). I figure a few of them would have boys--at least there's a chance they will. I know half are hoping for a girl though so we will see. Some find out in just a week and one tomorrow!
Activity days went well. We did a YW prep activity. Not the most exciting but one that needed to be done (though now we just found out that that girl had already completed that activity on her own). Oh well. It was a great discussion on the Proclamation to the Family. Many of the girls didn't understand what most of the words/phrases were meaning so it was a great discussion and learning opportunity for them. It felt more like and FHE than a regular activity. The lights flicked during our discussion that added a spark of excitement. I hurried and found some candles to light in case they really did go out.
I was blessed with the offer to come back over to Grandma and Grandpa's house for a taco dinner. My favorite and I didn't have to cook or feed the kids. What a great way to end the day (also a clean kitchen and no dishes to boot)! Oh how I love my in-laws. I'm so blessed to have them in my life. I'm so glad my kids have the opportunity to know and love their grandparents!
