So yesterday LM and I got to go on a little date in the morning to see Harry Potter (Deathly Hallows). It was great. I jumped at one part too. :-) DH thought that was funny. The kids were wonderful for Grandma and Grandpa and SP had two diaper changes and slept the rest of the time. It was nice not having to pump when we got home. Later that night was had game night with two other families a little way up the mountain. It was COLD up there when we left. The kids had a blast running around with the other kids and LM loved all the cars and trucks they had there!
Sadly today while DH was undressing LM from his PJ's his arm got caught in his PJ's and hurt him. He said it was his wrist that hurt. We thought it was would be fine after a little while but he was babying it. He tried to drink from his sippy and couldn't hold it with his left had. I double checked and asked him if his right wrist was hurting and he said no and pointed to his left one instead. The clincher was when DH put his coat on him to leave for church he screamed in pain, making us think maybe it was his shoulder. DH dropped the girls and I off at church and took DH to the DR. He ended up having a dislocated radial (something). Basically his elbow came out because the tendon there is still weak at that age. The DR knew right away what was wrong when DH was explaining what was happening. Thankfully LM didn't have a bruise on him and hasn't been to the doctor for anything other than his acid reflux and normal check-ups. DH was worried they would think he was abusing him which is sad that he thought that but that's the day and age we live in. The DR did comment on how healthy he was according to his chart. The DR put it back in place and showed DH how to do it too in case it came out again. We are to watch him and make sure he doesn't use it too much for the next 5 days (yeah that won't be easy with an almost 2-year old boy.) They wanted him in a sling but didn't have one small enough for him and DH couldn't find a smaller one at a store either. We tried making one for him out of a bandanna but he wanted it off and we figured he would hurt himself more by trying to take it off than to just not have him wearing one so we skipped it. He's been fine the rest of today which is wonderful!
We went to my parents house for a soup potluck since my brother's family just got into town for the holidays. It was wonderful to see them and they finally got to see SP. Their oldest daughter LOVES to hold her. SP was kind of cranky at that point and didn't want to be held too much sadly. It was fun though and the kids had a blast. I did glitter nails with the girls which they enjoyed. We also ate some yummy pie since my SIL referenced them coming in a few days to my post on FB about making my 5 pies. We just bought some from the store though (easy way). As we were driving home tonight LM said, "Ad-da-lay" for SP. It's his first three syllable word! So exciting. He talking so much more and finally will say car instead of "truck" for every vehicle.
