4-month Birthday

May 19, 2009

Happy 4-month Birthday LM!! We LOVE you so much.
I was talking with a friend the other day that was concerned about her daughter not talking much. I reminded her that DD didn't talk much at all and would say a word for a while and then stop saying it. Don't worry about it. She didn't even really have 5 words that she constantly said at her 18 month appointment and my ped said we would get her speech therapy at 2 if she didn't have 20 words just so she didn't get too far behind. The last 2 months she's finally started to add words and we are over the 20 word mark which is great since she will be 2 in 3.5 weeks. I'm so happy that she's finally decided to talk.

LM was horrible last night with sleeping. He woke up at 2:40 and wouldn't go back to sleep. I didn't want to feed him since I want him to go longer between feedings. I couldn't get him back to sleep and DH ended up having to bounce him back to sleep and then he woke up only 15 minutes later. (I hadn't gotten back to sleep yet.) I finally gave in and fed him but he was so fussy. It took forever for him to get to sleep and I finally got him to sleep beside me. I pray tonight is better because I was exhausted this morning. Thankfully DD slept in for us until 8:45am!

Another friend was telling me how her daughter is now taking her diaper off while napping. DD has yet to take off her diaper though yesterday she was trying to put a diaper on her friend which was too funny. I love the idea of turning it around so the tabs are in the back and not front. The whole situation reminds me of my SIL's twins got their diapers off while napping and smeared poop all over their cribs, bedding, walls, and other close objects. I'm glad I didn't have to clean that up!

Today was a nice relaxing day- thank goodness! I saw my Chiro again and he helped adjust, stretch, and massaged me. He even massaged the front of my back muscle through my stomach. That HURT!!!! I really felt like I was in labor again and doing some short breathing. It did help but he had to do it twice on both sides. He gave me a tens unit (electro-theropy) to use at home on my back and I have been using it all day. We are trying to get the muscles to relax and let everything go. It's been great having DH home and I think he is now finding out just how much I really do since all I'm doing is feeding LM and holding him here and there but trying to lay flat on the couch and rest. I also have to take Magnesium to help the muscles relax! I pray this all works.

Tonight we had dinner at the IL's. We were on our way out to eat and they called since they had a lot to eat so we turned around and had a free dinner. It was great. DD was so silly. She wouldn't leave her bib on for me or grandma but when Grandpa asked if she would like HIM to put it on her she said yes and allowed him to put it on and ate her food. Can you tell who she likes??

I was able to feed LM and leave him behind with DH so I could go to knitting! I was so happy to have a complete break. We were served some yummy strawberry shortcake and donuts! It was the best. We also got to go through some cards for Mother's Day (next year) since one of the girls we knit with works with a card distributor and these cards would be thrown away. I also got a few lines done on my next square for the block quilt I'm knitting.

I came home and DH and I watched AI. I just loved Adam's performances. I think he did awesome. I can't wait for tomorrow to see who wins!
